Our two researchers, Carlos Ramonell from the Polytechnical University of Catalonia (UPC) and Irina Stipanovic from Infraplan Consulting (INFCON) represented ASHVIN and two co-authored scientific publications at the Eurostruct Conference 2023. This event took place in Vienna, Austria.
Irina Stipanovic was a keynote speaker in the opening session of the event. This year, this scientific conference addressed all aspects of quality control plans in bridges and tunnels’ safety and management, integrating the most recent knowledge on performance assessment procedures with the adoption of specific goals. This topic is relevant for the ASHVIN’s research in developing digital twin technologies to support the maintenance of infrastructure assets, and especially bridges. Notably, two ASHVIN demonstration sites (demo site #1 and demo site #7) conduct research on this matter.
Irina also presented a scientific publication entitled “Inspection and maintenance KPIs to support decision making integrated into Digital Twin tool for infrastructure management” authored by Irina Stipanović, Sandra Škarić Palić, Joan Ramon Casas, Rolando Chacón, and Emir Ganić.
Furthermore, Carlos Ramonell presented a publication entitled “Embedding Measurements, Simulation, Analysis and Geolocation in a Digital Twin tool for bridge management” authored by Rolando Chacón, Carlos Ramonell Cazador, Héctor Posada Cárcamo, Rahul Tomar, Christian Martínez de la Rosa, and Irina Stipanović. He walked the audience through the objectives of ASHVIN in infrastructure management, and the technical innovation on creating digital twin models that support the load testing of bridges.
