ASHVIN WP1 “IoT Driven digital twin platform” focuses on building an industrial open-source, secure, and highly scalable digital twin platform that is fully IoT enabled. Deliverable 1.2 entitled “ An ontology for digital twin models for the construction industry” was published in September 2022 along with 11 other major technical deliverables defining the ASHVIN system. This report is related to the task 1.2 “Digital Twin IoT Integration” led by DTT.

This deliverable describes the ontology suite forming the basis for the ASHVIN digital twin platform. The ontological model conceptualises physical objects, the environment on the construction site, and their virtual replicas to enable accurate version, configuration, and state management for a real-time construction digital twin. Additionally, the ontology suite will encompass the entire lifecycle for a civil infrastructure i.e., design, construction and operation. The document primarily comprises three ontologies ConDT, DesDT & OpDT for the construction, design, and operation phases respectively for a built infrastructure’s digital twin.
