D7.2 Synthesis report on demonstration cases of BIM for renovation projects

This report, “Synthesis report on demonstration cases of BIM for renovation projects,” was published in September 2024 under work package 7, which focused on pilots. It is related to three project tasks devoted to piloting the ASHVIN system across 10 different pilot sites (T7.1 Buildings, T7.2 Bridges, and  T7.3 Industrial), which were led by our SME partner, FASADA

ASHVIN WP7 aimed to demonstrate how digital twin implementations throughout the life cycle can increase productivity, resource efficiency, and safety on real projects in the buildings, bridges, and industrial market segments.

Abstract

This document presents the progress, execution, and evaluation of all demonstration cases within the ASHVIN project, offering a replicable depiction of digital twin technology implementation and its impact. Spanning buildings, bridges, viaducts, and industrial structures, the project encompasses ten real-world projects. To ensure effective demonstration, the consortium devised a methodology centred on defining ASHVIN use cases for tools and methods, detailing digital twin solutions’ implementation in demonstration projects. Use cases are publicly available on the open repository Zenodo. The project has expanded platform accessibility to more construction and maintenance projects (+18 projects), leveraging IoT and image technologies for data collection and integration into the ASHVIN Digital Twin platform. Throughout, the project has prioritized disseminating its research findings widely, aiming to extend benefits to numerous sites and infrastructure assets across Europe, beyond the initial ten demonstration sites.
